Celebrating a visit to Chicago

Hubby and I had the opportunity to spend a day in Chicago this past Monday. For us, it's not a small thing at all, considering that we live just under 1800 miles away from the city. Here are some memories:

View of Lake Michigan from Brother Tom's brother, Joe's 17th floor condo.

Another picture of Lake Michigan and Lakeshore Drive.

Chicago Skyline with park below.

This is us in front of the Bean with Sister Cheryl and Brother Tom.

This was one of my favorite pictures from the Chicago Art Museum.

Chicago Art Museum from the outside.

After visiting the art museum, it was dusk. We crossed the street and had coffee at Starbucks. Then, our friends took us to Midway Airport and we flew home.

Many thanks to Sr. Cheryl and Bro. Tom for a great day.

What are you celebrating today?

  1. I've been to many places in the US but never to Chicargo. I must say from your pictures it looks a wonderful place to visit. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Yes, and there is so much more to see (obviously) than what we saw in one day! Lots of museums, etc.

  2. Enjoyed reading about your trip to Chicago! Chicago holds a special place in my heart because that's where I met my husband. How could a college kid from Columbus (OH) meet a grad student from Cincinnati in the big city of Chicago? That's another story! But to celebrate our 40th anniversary a few years back, we retraced our trip there and repeated some of the same things we did when we first met: Chicago Cubs game, walking the lakefront, etc. Second time around we saw the Art Museum, too--fantastic place. Thanks for stirring up the memories and glad you had a good trip, too :-)

  3. I have great plans of taking the first SouthWest flight out of Kansas City to Chicago ... spending the day at the Art Institute... and then returning home after dinner. You have convinced me I need to move this up on the bucket list :)
