Guidelines: Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers and receive new followers on your own blog.
This week's question: Do you prefer to blog about a specific book genre or do you have an eclectic blog?
I blog about several book genres, as well as some book discussion and writing posts, but I don't consider my blog terribly eclectic. I review Christian Nonfiction books, Young Adult fiction, including YA Romance, and Inspirational romance, mostly historical.
I used to blog about where I have travelled but these past ferw years have not gone too far from home. I know seem to blog about what has happened to me daily or post a poem from one of my books.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Hi Yvonne! I used to review books and then I stopped and did only "author" type posts. But I've decided to return to reviewing. I read so many books anyway, why not?
DeleteThanks for stopping by.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today, Cathy. I find myself getting busier and busier, so I only blog once a week. Twice if the occasion arises. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Cathrina, Thank you for returning the favor, even considering your busy-ness. I am honored. Hope to see a IWSG post from you next week.
DeleteOh, I LOVE those genres, too! There are some others I love, as well. The only genre you've mentioned above that I don't blog about on my main blog is Christian nonfiction. I have a separate blog for that, as well as classics and literary fiction.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Have a GREAT weekend, and welcome to the Hop!! <3 :)
Hi Maria, I looked at your blogs and yes, I think we enjoy the same genres. I also like women's fiction, literary and classics. I'll be doing some of those this year, but I'm going to focus mostly on YA this year--like you.
DeleteNice to see you on the BLOG HOP!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone reads what he/she likes - nothing wrong with that.
I stick with three genres just because I have been reading them forever and don't really like anything else.
Have a great weekend.
Hi,m Like you, I enjoy historical fiction, so I look forward to reading some of your reviews.
DeleteI think it's awesome that you stick to the books you're interested in! That's what makes blogging so much fun! Awesome answer and I hope you enjoy your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteMy Book Blogger Hop!
We both like YA; that's cool. I like that you're eclectic in your reading. I should probably be a little more that way, but there are so many new-to-me authors even in the genres I read, I'll be busy in those genres for a long while.
DeleteI believe if you write what you read, the passion comes through and the blog doesn't go stale. It doesn't matter if it's eclectic or not.
ReplyDeleteI write what I read and I'd class my blog eclectic but romance - or a strong romantic hook - is almost a pre-requisite of my reading choices. :)
Yes, everything I read needs to either be a romance, or to include a romance. Thanks for stopping by; great to meet you.
DeleteI review anything and everything! :) My reading tastes are pretty scattered, and I review anything I read.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog! I'm not following you and I look forward to seeing more of your posts! :)
Looking forward to following you, too, Erica.
DeleteI read and review just about anything, but I've got a soft spot for YA, sci-fi, and fantasy. :)
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
Those genres are such a natural match for each other.
DeleteMy blog is eclectic. I read a lot of different genres as do the other people who review on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI think eclectic reading and reviewing makes for a more interesting blog. I have discontinued following blogs that focus exclusively on, say, mystery or steamy romance.
